Oh, that tiles were not slippery!

Opps....I slipped and fell yesterday morning and in the process sprained my ankle. Won't be doing that again any time soon! Thankfully my parents and Miss Sarah were there to help me and I am very grateful to them for taking me (crying) to the ER.

Sarah took some pics, and I did too. Here is my pitiful face in the waiting room. :P
Here you have a lovely shot of my iced ankle and bags o' stuff.

Me in a better mood. Thankfully friends and family can make me laugh when I'm sad.

A close up!

My hospital bracelets.....some how they thought I was 45. That is my mother's birthday, not mine. I am 22 years old. I don't look that old, do I?

Sarah, looking sad for me. Thanks Sarah!

My mother filling out papers for me. Joey, my stepdad, had already left to go back to work.

The Box. That nurse in there hit my right leg twice and my left once (that being the injured foot) trying to wheel me in there.
Well, that was an eventful day. I do recommend not spraining your ankle. I felt so stupid, but very grateful that I had help. It will be a day or two before I post again. I'll be resting today, but I don't plan to let this defer me from working on my portfolio. Thankfully one only has to sit to work on a computer. :) Man, I'm clumsy! lol.

Miss Sarah's Tote Bag

This tote bag is for Miss Sarah. I hope her Mac Air will fit in here. It is just adorable. Brown with blue polka dots, blue lining, and blue handles. I bet it would be cute with some kind of trim at the top too, but this is what I have to work with. :) It is just too cute! I am a great admirer of tote bags, and bags in general. A collector too. You can never have too many bags to carry your yarn around in. So I hope this comes in handy for Miss Sarah.
P.S. This one only took me between 2 and 3 hours this time. :)

I had to buy this fabric....

Wouldn't you buy this lovely fabric too. I just had to have it, and then naturally make a tote bag out of it. I did much better this time, only messing up a little. I also did not mess up the handles this time. A bit smaller, but a definite success. :D

I am a sewing goddess!

I haven't made any new patterns since Thursday because I found my mother's brand spanking new sewing machine. Its been lost in her garage for over two years. Oh, I was soooo excited! Sarah and I made some things, but I must say my first bag is a disgrace compared to the beauty I made last night. I followed instructions, as best as I could, from a sewing book my mother recently got me. I made this awesome tote bag!
I messed up on the inside, but fixed it well. The only other mess up was the handles, which I'd sewn on the wrong way, but I went ahead and cut and fixed them. I think my next tote bag will be much more beautiful, but I must say I'm rather attached to this one. Thankfully I had fabric I bought from Hobby Lobby, way back when I worked there! Anyways, la!

Falling Flowers

This pattern was fun. I had to get all the flowers to fit together without touching. I wish ya'll could click on the photos, but there's still some kind of problem. If they've fixed it and you can then yay! I really like the blue one. More to come!

Neat 1

I made my first Neat Pattern, shown here in a variety of colors. I think these would be cute on some P.J.s. Those kind with the boxy texture. :)

Bird Flop

I finally scanned in all my newly drawn sketch pages and I really wanted to do a pattern with the bird I drew. I like the way both of these turned out. The blue being my favorite. I started both in Illustrator and thankfully layers can be dragged to a different file in Photoshop, which is where I finished them.

New Sketch Pages!

Here are the 8 new sketch pages I drew. Yay! New patterns will be posted shortly!

Bloodstream

I wanted to create a pattern with these drawings and this is what I came up with. The colors were the hardest part, but for the most part I like these. I think they'd be neat on a t-shirt.

I've drawn a few more pages in my sketchbook the last two days and I'll update on that hopefully later today. :)

Textile Designs

I needed new inspiration and whats better than old inspiration. So I went to Borders and got this book.
It has hundreds of textile designs from  Europe and America from the past 200 years. I really like it. I'm already full of ideas. :) I highly recommend it for reference and inspiration.

Vines

I got home and got inspired by a website so here's what I came up with. I'm not sure about the colors. I'll play with it more later. For now I'm going to bed.

Checkers & Sputnik

These are the last two patterns I made last night. I sent Checkers to Print & Pattern, but I made Sputnik after I e-mailed them. I'm not sure about Checkers, there's just something missing for me, but Miss Sarah liked it. On Sputnik I reused some drawings but I wanted to use those together. I'm happy with my progress. I feel I'm getting better and hopefully I'll get a job soon....
